They aren't in the same category. One is a full case unit and one is not. They do, however, do the same thing. They either lock and unlock or they don't meaning they either work or don't work.

Here ya go. My Dana 35c. It was open. Running 35s on steel wheels. It blew up on my driving on the freeway to the local parts place. A few of the ring gear bolts decided to shear. A chunk of which was shot thru the diff cover punching a hole in it and causing most of the fluid to drain out. Other chunks tore up the ring and pinion and housing pretty good. That being said, I got new bolts from the parts house whose lot I wound up in. Tore it apart, cleaned it up as best I could and removed the busted metal shavings, slapped it all back together and wheeled it that weekend and drove it for a month while I bought and built up my 8.8 to replace it.

....ummh. his last activity appears to be April 2016. I think he grenaded his D35 and bought a 2007 JKU.

Do things right, and do it once. Swap the axle to something stronger.
NHfireLJ and GChief like this.

Stop whining about the 'ride' - If your YJ ain't wrangling your soul free, then might I suggest you buy a stationwagon... at least you can fit all your bull**** in the back.

Thanks, the plan was to swap the axles since I'll be in there anyway.

He means take out the D35 and put in a 8.8 or D44. Not just the internal axles.

The 8.8 isn’t that expensive btw
