5.2 Magnum, AX-15, 8.8 rear w/disks, 4"lift on 33's
I bought my Jeep beginning of 2020 with the 2.5. I got it cheap and it ran, but didn't drive. 4wd didn't work, no seats, no bumpers, gas tank had a hole in the side, wrong rear end, mismatch wheels and tires, but it did have a clapped out hardtop and full doors. Got it home and got it driving and kept improving it, and continue to do so. Improvements and upgrades include:

5.2 Magnum from Dakota (freshened up), AA mounts
Alum radiator w/ custom shroud
Custom exhaust w/ cat
H4 upgrade w/relay

AX-15 and NP231 w/ SYE

8.8 w/ disks (D30 up front)
Tom Woods rear DL

Boomerangs F&R, combo of ploy and rubber in leafs
MORE Anti wrap bar and steering brace

TruTracs F&R w/4.10's

Bushwacker flares
Poison Spider hood loovers

JKS Quicker Disconnects
Smittybilt Rear bumper with swing out
Smittybilt sliders
Redhead Dakota PS box
Ruff Stuff 7/8 Heim Steering Kit
Ruff Stuff rear SUA ubolt plates and 5/8 ubolts all the way around
Warrior Products front ubolt plates
Still waiting on Rock Hard front cage

Brief history of your jeep and how it came to be.*
I originally bought this jeep in February of 1999. It ran like crap due to the stock carb, but that was soon
replaced with a Holley 2 barrel. I put on a 4" Rough Country lift and some 31" BFG MT's and ran it like
that for a lot of years. It eventually got a Howell TBI upgrade. After the frame rusted out and the tranny
died it slowly got build into what it is today. I had a 5.2 rebuilt by my local VoTech school, but that didn't
work out so well. It now has all Chevy drive train. Somewhere around 2001 is when it picked up the
DaddyJeep name. My oldest son would hear me coming home from work and run to the door and say
"DaddyJeep" so it kind of stuck.

-4.0
-ax-15
-Atlas 4 t-case
-fabricating a custom dash from scratch
-working on on board air
-working on a tons swap
-working on just about everything just short of a frame off/engine swap to be completely honest...
-Oh and a rattlecan paint job for good measure

My first jeep. Bought it in 2013 with a small lift and 33s already on it. Wheeled it a few times, daily'd it pretty much everywhere, then pulled it off the road to rebuild it from the ground up... 6 years later very little progress has been made. I blame my wife. I bought her a JK that she dailys AND wheels pretty hard... guess which vehicle keeps getting all my attention?
Anyway, Even though I haven't driven it in years, I still love the thing like it was my own child. I found some pictures of it from before I garaged it, so maybe I'll get more than just one (pity) vote this time around

The day I brought it home. I fell in love with it pretty much instantly on the drive home from the lot.

The one and only time I washed it. It proceeded to break down for several months the same day, so I don't wash jeeps anymore...

My first time wheeling it. Rausch Creek in PA, Topless for Tatas trail.

One of my fave pics I've ever taken, not just of the jeep, but of anything.

-Rubicon Express 4.5 lift, 33x12.50 Goodyear MTRs, Ford 8.8 rear end, SRC bumpers/rock sliders, Bestop seats, Tuffy console/glove box, Cobra 18 wx CB, Herculined tub, pocket flares/trimmed fenders, Flowmaster exhaust, Kilby gas tank skid, KC lights, Engo 10k lb winch. Probably more Im forgetting about.

-Im the original owner. Purchased in December 1995 with a little help from my parents (I was 17). Probably one of the last YJs ever built. It was my daily driver all through college and my early twenties. I was in a wreck in 2004 and decided to get a car with AC, but I kept the Jeep and gradually fixed it up. Lift and tires went on in 05. Did the 8.8 swap in 06. Everything else was done over the last 15 years. I dont have as much time for it now that I have kids, but they love going for rides every now and then. I dont plan on getting rid of it anytime soon.

4.2 I6 w/Howell Fuel Injection; AX-15 with external slave conversion; Atlas 4.3; HP44 Front w/ARB 14B Rear with Yukon Grizzly - 5.13 gears; currently on 37x12.5x17 Cooper STT Pros and KMC beadlocks; Spring over with 3 front stretch on XJ springs - 8 rear stretch on Explorer Sport Trac springs (until the 4 link); Metal Cloak front fenders; homebrew sliders on BTF blank rocker armor; rear Metal Cloak-ish comp fenders on blank BTF armor; Poison Spyder tire carrier; sprayed Road Rash orange with Monstaliner (black in well black) and a whole slew of other mods.

Bought this basically stock with a set of 33s, giant 2 shackle lift and a 2 body lift. My friend Mr.B got me to the Rubicon and fed the addiction LOL. Its been through a few iterations of builds with just taking the shackles and body lift off and trimming for TJ flares and 33s, to SOA on YJ springs, D30 and 8.8, to fit 35s to the current stretch and comp cut. Like everyone else, its still not done. Collecting parts for a rear four link, then hopefully on to the front, then new cage, LS swap, and on and on

Then:

Now:

Story: I bought this jeep about 4 years ago and it barely ran with the 2.5L engine. All of the emissions were removed and it was leaking fuel, overheating, and all the electrics were flickering on the ride home. My buddy and I were joking that we were filming an episode of Roadkill. I cleaned everything up and got it working only to decide the engine wasnt powerful enough and it needed gears. That gave me 5th gear back but also highlighted the need for more power. One thing led to another and I managed to swap an LS engine in for next to nothing but the level of effort and research required to keep things cheap took a huge toll on my free time.

As my wheeling confidence and offroad friend base increased, I started down the path of making an extremely capable rig while trying to maintain as much on road drivability as I couldor at least as much as you can for a vehicle which I decided would never have doors or a top again, sticky tires, and full hydro steering. I dont like to consider myself a fair weather Jeeper but I like driving this Jeep because its special every time I drive it. So if the weather is nice, its always a treat to drive and I leave the bad weather days for a less interesting daily driver.

Drivetrain:
5.3 LS engine with 4l60E transmission
Adams driveshafts front and rear
Rear - Ford 8.8, OX air locker, and 4.88 gears with Yukons Ultimate 88 kit
Front Custom Dana 44 with RCV axles, ARB locker, and 4.88 gears (re-tubed for driver drop not done by me)
Lokar shifters for the transmission and transfer case

Suspension:
Front - Triangulated 4 link with 14 Fox coilovers stretched 7
Rear Triangulated 4 link with 14 Fox coilovers stretched 2
Total wheelbase is 102

Wheels and tires:
39x13.5x17 BFG red label stickies
DIY beadlock wheels using Total Metal Innovation kit
Apex rapid tire valves

Brakes:
8.8 with Chevy front disc brakes and Ruff Stuff disc brake bracket (technically a Ford 9 disc brake upgrade)
Chevy D44 brakes with Ford D44 bearings/rotors for a 5x5.5 bolt pattern
Ford Explorer Booster and MC (1.063 bore its a little soft but brakes very well)

Steering:
D44 has the machined knuckles with high steer arms. Pieced together a full hydro setup using PSC 8 Ram, Trail Gear 120cc orbital and adapted it to the LS power steering pump with a simple fluid cooler. All hoses, fittings, etc came from surplus center on the cheap.

Armor and body:
Trail Gear DIY welded front cage and 92+ rear roll bar
DIY aluminum rock sliders
DIY aluminum fold down storage tailgate
DIY aluminum flat skid plate
DIY aluminum fuel tank and skid
Barnes low profile tailplate bumper
Stubby high line front fenders
Speedmaster 12000lb winch with synthetic cable
Genright hood vents

Interior:
Custom fiberglass flat dash with JEGS gauges and 6x9 speakers
Stock HVAC system removed and Maradyne heater box installed
5 gal air tank added under the dash where the HVAC used to be for the air lockers
Cypher aftermarket reclining suspension seats with harnesses and harness bar
Raptor bedliner throughout tub

Honorable mentions:
Onboard alternator stick welder for emergency trail repairs
Battery relocated to the bottom of the tub for a lower CG
