July 2019 YJOTM - Vote Now!

Alrighty folks! Summer is in full tilt! Brake cleaner shelf is running low, the wrench and sockets are getting more and more slippery and the kids & grandkids are taking up the elbow grease time (not necessarily a bad thing). Let's see if I can't try and top up that glass for one of you!

Voter Rules
1st rule of YJOTM is you do not vote for yourself.
2nd rule of YJOTM is you DO NOT VOTE FOR YOURSELF.
3rd rule of YJOTM is you do NOT solicit votes from outside JF or within JF. Investigations have been held, jeeps have been disqualified. DON'T do it!
4th rule of YJOTM is all nonsupporting members must post when you vote or it will not be counted. Paid members do not have to post when voting.
5th rule of YJOTM is all voters will remain public as to promote self moderation

Up for grabs: Bragging rights for JULY 2019 YJOTM and $200 gift cert. from Qtec (Thank you @Quadratec - you rock). REMINDER: All YJOTM winners are automatically entered for the chance at being voted for the illustrious title of YJOTY as well as inclusion on the /f12 Calendar. Let's Git'r DONE!

It's been a lot of fun modifying this YJ over the years. It was my daily driver for most of the time that I've owned it, but a couple of years ago it was retired from that role and now it's my toy. Now I get to spend more time on projects, so they can be a bit more involved. My most recent major project was the flat belly skid, which took a total of two months to complete. Whenever we get time, the whole family climbs in and we go rock crawling with the local Jeep club. The YJ manages to keep up with Jeeps sitting on 35"s and impresses everyone we wheel with.

Brief history of your jeep and how it came to be.
I originally bought this jeep in February of 1999. It ran like crap due to the stock carb, but that was soon replaced with a Holley 2 barrel. I put on a 4" Rough Country lift and some 31" BFG MT's and ran it like that for a lot of years. It eventually got a Howell TBI upgrade. After the frame rusted out and the tranny died it slowly got build into what it is today. I had a 5.2 rebuilt by my local VoTech school, but that didn't work out so well. It now has all Chevy drive train. Somewhere around 2001 is when it picked up the DaddyJeep name. My oldest son would hear me coming home from work and run to the door and say "DaddyJeep" so it kind of stuck. The Jeep has been a part of my family for a lot of years and is finally performing as I envisioned it. It is an absolute beast and has exceeded my expectations.

It has the 4.0/ax15/np231wSYE, I put an 8.8 in it. Regeared it to 4.10 and has a selectable locker in the 8.8 and a lunchbox locker in the front. Custom front and rear driveshafts. There rear frame on both sides was rotted and repaired with CNC cut plates. It has the 136 amp alt from a 98 durango. Sitting on 33's. Bumpers front and rear winch and tire carrier in the works. OBD2 upgrade is also in the works as well.

I bought this Jeep to build with my Fiancee. She was killed in a car fire shortly after. So I built it with her daughters whom I adopted. Marley 9 actually helped with the regear and Jadyn 12 helped install the 8.8 she did some of the welding. They both have helped me replace every gasket in the motor. So it became a father/Daughter project with those girls.

Man I might have to flip a coin in a playoff bracket system! I know I’ve voted for each of these jeeps in the past. From a very clean mild stocker, to a wild v8 long travel Jeep with flames excellent line up fellas

Voted. There is definitely a conflict in my head between sweet jeeps built with money and know-how and jeeps that were built with heart and soul.
