January Desert Run - SoCal Jan 17-19

Anyone in So Cal or close by should come join my group for this trip. Normally post it in the San Diego section but almost no one goes in there any more

We don't normally pay the fee to join the organized runs but do attend the raffle which is generally pretty good. Our group is usually 15-20 people and more are welcome. Non of out group belongs to sd4wheeler club and the even is open to the public.

Located about 110 miles east of San Diego just off I8.

Come watch me flop and break something.

I went on a few runs with the San Diego 4 Wheelers many moons ago (~1997 - 2001). They were an overall good group back then.

Any plans to do Devils Canyon? Not the wimpy millennial limp wrist version. The old school Devils Canyon trail.

I may be interested. It'd be nice to try something different out of the area.

Yep. It was closed for a while. I forget what was done to reopen it and possibly its closed again - not sure. Perhaps a BLM permit or something along those lines. If you know Vern Britain, he probably knows the inside scoop.

I've wheel a lot of that area, but not DC.

Bummer man I'm out, niece has a play I was committed to that Saturday that I forgot about. But please keep me informed of future runs, I really want to go down there. I'll do the same for you up here.

so, let's reverse this. Top picture = me with broken drive shaft and friend inspecting. Next picture, aforementioned friend with broken axle shaft on exact same waterfall.

great weekend regardless

Groovy

Stop whining about the 'ride' - If your YJ ain't wrangling your soul free, then might I suggest you buy a stationwagon... at least you can fit all your bull**** in the back.
