Heater core.

Can i flush my heater core with out taking it out? if so can yo tell me where to find the hoses to do it?

The two hoses that are just inboard of the battery that are going into the firewall are the heater hose feed and return.

so i dont have to take it out to flush it? just drain about a gallon of coolant? i have a/c in my jeep so its a huge pain to get at the heater stuff.

Yea, you can flow pressurized water thru it. Do it both ways several times to loosen up any crud. Be warned that flushing that unit CAN cause it to become plugged rather than cleaning it... just an FYI.

BTW, having the AC there is no big deal... I've done it several times.

well ill try that first. it it gets clogged then ill just replace it.

just make sure that you reverse flush it, as in, the opposite way it flows, all the crud will come out, i had no heat last fall due to this issue, thought i was going to have to replace the heater core, took it to a shop and had them do a reverse flush, the contents that came out was quite dramatic, however, i now have lots of heat!
