header to pipe gasket
im new to the jeep world. my friend just bought an 89 yj 2.5l, and im the one whose gonna maintain it. the gasket from the header to the pipe is what i need to know. which one of the 2 different shapes, or just metal to metal like ive read twice today on other pages. i picked up the reducer one and unless i get longer bolts and want it to look like its not right it doesnt fit. im going to guess no gasket is not the correct way, so that leaves the ring version. just want to verify before i go grab it. im sure ill be on here picking you guys brains on some simple stuff alot. my first jeep to wrench on, so im looking foward to it

I use the donut gasket for 2.25 inch pipe. Its round and wedge shaped top to bottom. They are like $6. They fit tight so they areint easy to get onto the manifold.
