Gladiator with YJ styling at SEMA 2019

This is interesting and pretty cool to me given I have an Islander YJ.

I wouldn't call it YJ styling. Square HL, but other than that not so much. Not even a similar grille. On second look, there is the turn signal too.

But yeah, there is a lot of impressive stuff going on there. Would be interesting to hear WHY they went with the squares. I would be surprised if they said it was because they wanted to give tribute to the YJ.

Considering is has YJ Islander inspired decals and what appears to be actual YJ front marker lenses, I think it's safe to say it has some sort of YJ influence.

Yeah, good point. That's kind of cute. I think the little round decal says Inlander, compared to Islander, and the mountain peaks instead of the setting sun.

Why does it have two spare tires?

If you cannot fix it with a hammer then it has to be an electrical problem.

They forgot to remove the stock street tire from underneath. You'd think someone would have caught that. Other than Boojo35, that is. I mean, how many hours was somebody under that thing?

Boss said to bolt all this stuff on. He didn't say anything about unbolting anything.

Seriously. How could that be missed on something going to SEMA? The boss. The crew. WOW. Just WOW! Makes ya wonder what else they missed. Eh?

Not 100% sure but one of the videos I watched talked about the desert/baja type rigs liked to carry two spares when possible.

Edit: I guess I'm dense. You are probably talking about the original spare left underneath. Sigh.

I read that a 37 may or may not fit underneath and anything above that was a no-go. Many of the rigs at SEMA had alternate mounting for 40s+. Some of them used a lot of the precious bed space.

Now you have goals. Ha ha. J/K, of course. I've watched several videos of coverage from SEMA and it's amazing what they've all done. And the $$$$$. Damn.

I'm jealous of yours! Hope to see another build thread.

If only I had 100K to throw around!

Since I'm a YJ guy at heart I like the grill... but I can definitely do without the Scottish kilts seats!

'05 LJR, 6sp, RC long arm w/MC 6" coils, 5.13 D44's w/chromo shafts, MetalCloak fenders/sliders/body armor, 37x12.50 MTR's, Warn 9.5, RockHard swing out w/full spare. <><

Coming from the VW forum, the plaid seats are a win for me.
That stock spare is an eye sore though. The only thing I can think of is maybe it's supposed to be a sacrificial guard for the rear, an empty spot being easy to get hung up.
But I would have removed it!

I personally don't like these trucks, but that one looks decent. 8.5/10...spare defeats the bed.
