Found on Craigslist - Square to Round Headlight Conversion

Saw this on Craigslist, and just about choked on the $899 price tag

Put here for general discussion and ridicule, not as an endorsement

From the Craigslist Post:

"YJ Wrangler Square to Round Headlight Conversion Kit

Order yours today @

http://yjwranglercirclelights.webs.com

Are you tired of your old, square YJ Jeep Wrangler headlights? Look no further my friends. We have the kit that will convert you over to that circular headlight look.

We provide an easy alternative to those square headlights that so many YJ Wrangler owners just do not like.

If you are looking for a quick and easy install to convert your YJ to circular headlights without any cutting, then this is the product for you!

$899 with free shipping.

Kit includes: 2 Round lights, the plastic grille with turn signals (grille is pre-wired), and the hardware needed to install new lights and secure the grille to your Jeep YJ.

**The kit is only available in black. We recommend you paint and clear coat the grille."

Does the price include a hooker for the night?

No. NONONONONONONONONO. On so many levels, no. I am pretty sure you have to turn in your man card if you even consider purchasing this. What a downgrade. I feel guilty for clicking on the website, which I am almost positive is in the tens of views.

I'm actually proud of my square headlights. My Jeep will never be mistaken for a JK, nor will it seem like I'm trying to make it look like one.

There was a company that made a better looking version of that years ago, and they had to stop because the 7 slot Jeep grille is trademarked. If this new company advertises enough, I'm sure they'll find a cease & desist letter in their mail box from Chrysler Jeep Fiat.

That doesn't make any sense. There's a company in India that makes a copy of a Jeep to this day. It looks almost exactly like a Wrangler. How would they be able to get away with that?

Mahindra & Mahindra are licensed to build them. They have been for years.

This is one of their pickups. It's a diesel and was supposed to already be available here.

Quite often those "cease and desist" orders include "recall and destroy all stock" orders too. Immediate compliance can sometimes stop punitive fines... but not always. And it won't show up in the mailbox, oh no. It'll be hand delivered, possibly by the local sheriff.

I see. Neat.

I don't see why anyone would want to buy an Indian-made vehicle here in the states, unless they have vastly improved their metallurgy.
