Engine paint colors

Hey everyone, I'm gonna be taking my engine out and rebuilding it and all that fun stuff but when I put the engine back in I wanna paint it. I have a white 1992 yj. I was wondering if anyone has good ideas for colors that would look good or if someone has done it before? Pictures would be awesome

I went the standard black. Avoids "visible" oil leaks. :-)

If it has tracks, tires or tits, its gonna cause a problem.

I'd stick with black, dark silver, grey, charcoal, maybe a hammered look, etc..

Whatever it is make sure you clean the crap out of the block or none of it will stick!

AMC blue!

After all your 4.0 is the older brother of the AMC 'Typhoon' Six introduced in 1964!

I replaced my valve cover gasket and went for chevy orange. That Detroit green sure is nice though.

My 4.2 is at the machine shop getting rebuilt right now. Should have it back next week. Picked out the paint this weekend. Pontiac Blue with Grabber Green accents (brackets, valve cover ridges, etc). The Pontiac Blue is a little lighter and greener than that AMC Blue.

I like the yellow that looks good. How do you think yellow with a red valve cover and black manifold would look?

Love it! the first pic looks like new cat yellow and the second looks like old cat yellow. Either way it looks good on an internal combustion engine.
