Code 41 Not Charging w/ CEL on...will this work?

Found many posts discussing the no charging situation AKA: Code 41 with Check Engine Light on.

Tried 3 different ecm's and new alternator with no luck...before I go the external regulator route was thinking of just eliminating the field connector (B&C only) then:

Cutting the ECM Pin #20 wire and running a wire directly to Terminal B on the field from the ecm. Then running a 12v "key on" circuit to Terminal C on the field.

???

This is related to a 95 Wrangler 2.5

Jtec...thanks for the response..I can't get back to the Jeep until tomorrow AM.

I do remember that terminal C is not getting voltage with key on or running. I did try supplying it with a 12v jumper and still no charging.

In the meantime is my idea of rerouting the wires a possibility? FYI: The Jeep was charging great before I installed another 2.5 engine....now the charging problem started. Might have broke a wire someplace during the engine swap.

the wiring diagram to the field circuits show where 12v originates. The Dk/GR wire supplies field voltage, could the connector on alt be bad? maybe open taped harness and probe wires.

This computer was my daughters SO that explains "linda' in attachment

10-4 on the breaks or bad connector...

I just realized that I have the all of the Jeep wiring diagrams noted in a link at the bottom of my truck forum at: www.3500HD.com Under the 95 Jeep diagrams the info I need is on page 5 of 25. It shows the path from Pin#20 and all of it's splices and connections.

Found that link on this forum someplace and just included it on my truck forum.

Thanks

Got it...the "black box" connector was bad...just cut it out and ran dedicated (soldered) wires to Terminal B&C. It was hard doing the wiggle test by myself and finally made a set of alligator clips to complete the connections for the ohm meter while I moved the wires around. Appears that at the point where the wires entered the connector there were broken strands (internally).

In any event I'm charging again..Thanks for jumping in.
