Bolt in Cruise Control?

Hey folks. Does anyone know of a direct bolt in Cruise Control system for our YJ's? I'd love to add CC to mine.....

Don't know of one specific to the YJ, but I had an older motor home that a PO had added a generic cruise control to, so it's likely available out there.

I added a cruise control to one of my cars back in about 1980. it had a magnet taped to the driveshaft as a speed sensor and a vacuum motor to pull on the throttle. worked pretty well.

Yes. The Cherokee cruise control will bolt in.

I can't find a write-up, but I'm sure there was one at some point. If you went to a junkyard it'd be pretty straightforward to pull the Cherokee stuff out and then stick it in your YJ.

If not, there are other options.

if it an fuel injected engine (post 90) then cruise from an XJ will bolt on
If its carbed 4.2 then iŽd look for some universal aftermarket solution

current 2x XJ, 2x JK-U, SJ, M38A1, WJ
gone XJ, TJ, XK, ZJ

Had that on the YJ... never really felt comfortable using it that way. lol.

On the other hand... the LJ has cruise... hardly EVER use it. But then again, it's not a DD either.

I put one of those in to raise the idle while airing up with the York. I've used at times for a cruise control, mainly on the interstate where hills are minimal.

I had the digital version back in the day, which also monitored fuel consumption. The coolest feature was the fact that you could punch in the speed you wanted the cruise control to be set to. I would cause some concern to my passengers when I would punch in 999mph, and hit engage!
