Axle Breather Help

Next problem popped up the other day.

Went to remove the breather fitting on my D30 before sending to the blaster and it cracked in half. I put a dowel on the end from inside the pumpkin and one hit with a hammer and pow!

I have come across a few threads, OEM fitting long discontinued, then a JK part that would have been a upgrade, discontinued for about a year now.

So anybody with a suggestion on what/how to get my axle breathing again

I threaded mine and screwed in a regular barb fitting.

Get a small engine fuel filter, and will keep the bugs out.
This one runs about $5.50 on Amazon, but can be found cheaper and size like you want at most FLAPS/Small Engine Shops.

Edit myself......read it again and realized the problem is to fix the fitting on the axle, not at the top end of the hose. Oh well, this filter will work on the top end

I did what jbolty did when I installed my ARB. I wanted to use the breather hole for my airline so I drilled and tapped the diff for a new breather fitting.

why would you put this filter at the end of a vent hose? Not trying to sound like an @$$, i'm legitimately curious.

to keep dust and bugs and dirt and stuff out. The factory ‘valve’ fitting sorta does that preventative but not really but it probably does better at stopping water.
