MY van is an 84 of course you'll need a unit from a 3 spd tranny but those are just as common. GM used this same style van from the mid 70's to the late 90's

They should both be Saginaw columns, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they used the exact same part

oldfrt47 I had the same problem. Mines had the tabs busted.
Go to the junk yard and pull one off any old Chevy van or pick up.
That's what I did. I actually took it off a van.

Only thing with mine is that the indicator does not line up properly.

just get a piece of wood shape it to what you want paint it day glow orange then you are all set.

A 89 yj with a 4.0 aw4 sye out of an 92xj. Now the hard part is done time to get it up in the air just a bit. Working on 8.8 with 3.73 and lsd for the rear. and new D30 hp with 3.73 .
For those who have not figured this out I'm old school but can handle the new too.

SOLVED!! part numbers for auto column shifters

Finally got the stuff I needed to get the gear indicator on my 87 YJ replaced.Took a while as they were really hard to find in the parts book at the Chrysler place.Only reason the parts guy took so much trouble was cuz I brought my gorgeous wife with me!
There are 3 basic pieces needed; The shift indicator is the square-ish thing that fits behind the lens and has an orange tip to indicate which gear you're in. It's part number is 52003154. It fits into a square plastic box that attaches to the plastic collar that moves with the shfit lever. There is a square hole for it behind the indicator. It's part number is
83502571. That attaches to the aforementioned square hole using a clip that slides on the the collar and the little square box fits onto the clip. The clip's part number is 83502572.
The list states that it's for a 92 YJ but the parts I'm needing are the same.Hope this helps.
I will attach pics of the blow up diagram and parts list if someone will explain to me how to do it. It asks for a URL and I don't know how to go from there I just have the pics on my desktop. I'm just too old to figure out all this new fangled stuff!
