88 YJ seat help

The seats and seat risers in my 88 have been replaced. The seat sits too high, close to the steering wheel. The slide is all the way back. I have been looking for seat brackets that would lower the seat but so far all I can find looks like what's in there. Any advice?

Use this link and follow the directions to search the forum using the Google method in the thread. There is a lot of different threads on dealing with the seat brackets.

Que89YJ--thanks for the tip on searching.

OP--I replaced the riser and slider in my 95 and it is definitely higher than I want. I looked around (mostly for a flip up version--mine was fixed) and bought two different brands--one claimed to be lower and wasn't. I looked all over the place for a non-rusty OEM riser and heard that they are as hard to come by as the D35 with 4:10s. Unfortunately, I don't think you will find anything without a decent amount of fabrication.

I have a tilt wheel and have decided to deal with it in the short term.

The flip up version I have is torqued a little bit and doesn't move as freely as it should because my floor is rusty and rebuilt. I kept the OEM fixed riser and will eventually go back to it after I figure out how to attach my slider to it.

No useful info other than either a compromise or fabrication/tricky sourcing is likely in your future. If you find a better solution, please let me know!
