I finally got to removing the Bestop High Rock Tire Rack. I took it off with the swing out tailgate. Then I mocked up CJ drop down tailgate!

Iíll work in mocking things up through out the week.

More progress to follow.

....looks REAL good.

It's a shame everything is done so cheaply these days. I see the rear end of Gladiators with their large JEEP emblems on the tailgate, and it kind of looks ridiculous with the size of those individual emblems. Always thought, "why cant they just stamp/emboss the steel like back in the day?".

Thanks!!

I agree it would be so much nicer if they would emboss/stamp more things nowadays. The quality is vehicle builds has really been lacking in some areas. I do enjoy my 90s vehicles a lot.

I did some wrenching today on the Jeep. I went and picked up a new ignition switch (yes I already had a new one but I was testing something). Well I put the ignition switch in and nothing still. I did some reading in the pdf service manual I have. I was about to do some tracing with my multimeter and all signs point to the starter relay. I called around and nobody has one. I just went ahead and ordered one from O’Reilly’s. It will be here Wednesday.

I have decided to hold off on gauges and a custom dash for now. I am just want the Jeep on the road right now. I want to hit some small trails then head to some off-road parks.

Get Jeep running
Install drop down tailgate
Install corner armor
Go have fun.

This winter I will decide what im doing then. I have some house projects I have to do so a running, driving Jeep would be nice to have, you know a few less things to worry about.
