What is wrong with where it is now? I dont see the problem with it being there, but if you want to relocate it, try near the air filter if you convert to a cone setup - this way it will be closer to all of the tubes it feeds.

I had mine where Eric has his but shortly after knocked it off and lost it. This ended up in the vacuum sucking up water and Fing my MAP sensor. Anyway, I know have it under the hood right next to the fuse block. All you do is pull the vaccum hose back, coil it up and put the canister where ever you want.

I have mine in the engine compartment near the fuse box... hell I don't even have it attatched to anything. It's just kind of sitting on top of stuff in there. It isn't going anywhere though.

The pre-'97 XJ's have an oblong vac-canister that won't really fit on the support brace under the turn signal. I relocated mine to behind the nose panel, just to the side of the steering box. Fits great in there and used existing holes. I used some 1/4" ID fuel line to extend the vaccuum tube over there. I keep meaning to take some pics for a quick write-up for Jeepin.com but haven't gotten around to it yet.

hman333 - My first question is "Why do you want to move it?" That might have something to do with where is the best place.

I got a BPI winch bumper and had to put mine somewhere. Their directions suggest where EricsXJ put his but when I trimmed my fenders, those support braces had to go. I ended up drilling two holes in my new bumper and mounting it on my new bumper exactly where it was on my old bumper. I thought about under the hood but that seems to be filling up.

.
Those who have relocated theirs to beside the fuse box... please post up a pic or two, and how you disconnected and re-routed the hoses. I'll be getting a ProtoFab tube winch bumper soon, and would like to not have mine exposed in the current stock location.

I literally just nested it next to the fuse box... curled the tube and it just sits in an open space. No zip ties... itís pretty jenky, but no issues after several wheeling trips and a drive across country from Cleveland to Colorado.

I strapped mine to the right hand fender brace behind the original bumper with tie wraps and one existing screw hole when I installed my aftermarket bumper. Mine is the ball type not the football shape. Lots of miles on dirt roads and no problem.
