what i did today
I took the 1990 out today. I drive it once a week to keep it running, because its off the road, and im planning on restoring it this summer.

Flexing.

Stuffing the tires. (29" i believe)

Got stuck on the way home :
.

Aftermath...doh.
and last but not least, the new motor that i picked up for it on sunday.

Since im planning on taking this appart, putting the new motor in, and having the rust fixed, i need to start posting in here more. i lurk here...some times 2-3 times a day i check JF. hope you enjoy the pics.

lead_not_follow, thanks for doing that...i only need a few more posts till i can do it myself!
dynamite44: are they kj wheels? they were on there when i got the jeep in august of 05, and i love their looks. and yes that is a hood ornament. when i bought the jeep, the hood was cut for one, but there was no ornament. i went to a junkyard, and saw a waggy with one, so i took it off, and put it on. ill get another pic tomorrow. ive been looking for other XJ's with one...but i have yet to find one, i think mine might be a special one.
jeeps-r-fun, i didnt want to drive over it...it was icy out, and the jeep slid down there, i had to call my bro to help me get unstuck...he had his foot on the gas, i pushed. yes guys i was in 4Lo.
roodki: trust me...i want a stroker. dunno if im going to drop this in, then build a stroker out of the old motor...but i do want a 4.6L with the 258 crankshaft and rods.

dynamite44, heres the hood ornament.

The gray gook is duck-seal...you will see in the next pic that its not bolted down, because the screws are stripped, and the water is leaking under the hood. i need to get a tap/dye set and fix it up.

looks like that somone cut those holes, i thought they were factory...but i guess they are not, its not a perfect circle, and its rough around the edges.

this is just a small part of the rust that it has. ive been quoted at 1000+ for the work, but its my first car, and i think its worth it. plus when i bring it down its gonna be guttted of seats, motor, carpeting, molding...so it should be pretty easy for them, maybe the price will come down a few hundred.
