Exclamation URGENT! Need a great 4.0 Engine and AW4 Transmission

Not new here but lost my log in info.
I am in a situation and I need a new engine and trans for a 99 XJ. very bad deal I am in over this.
(I didn't do it, but now its my problem)
Very nice XJ otherwise. willing to consider a reman on both but need advise as to whom to buy from and not get ripped off...
I am in Northern Wyoming with no access to larger towns.
Urgent need on this and willing to pay bird dog fee for help.

Try www.car-part.com. Any XJ Cherokee or ZJ Grand Cherokee 4.0L engine block will fit. You will have to find a 1998-2001 AW-4.

You can try to call LKQ as well. Got any junkyards around? Any engine shops? The small local engine shop can be a great source to have an existing engine rebuilt. Big box rebuilds seem to be hit and miss on quality.

I can't say for sure who to get an AW4. Most people suggest a junkyard AW4 but even the newest junkyard AW4 is going to be almost 20 years old at this point with an unknown maintenance history. But reman transmissions from non factory sources have something like a 33% failure rate. I don't know of any recommened places to buy or have a AW4 rebuilt at. As far as I know factory reman isn't avaliable but I'm sure someone else here knows for sure.
