tire size

Does anybody know if a 225/75/15 size tire will fit in a 1999 stock cherokee sport wheel well without rubbing?? It has 225/70/15's in there now, and the bigger tires from my 1996 grand cherokee look like theyll just fit, but not much room to spare at all, especially front tires when turning...Any thoughts much appreciated.

Largest tire size that fits on a stock XJ is 235/75r15 and often even a 30x9.5. You'll be plenty fine.

Not true my buddy ran 33x12.50's on a stock XJ

It had front and rear Aussies , trimmed fenders and bumpstoped. Damn thing went all sorts of places but it was a rig that was deemed ugly pig

Didn't know Cherokees came stock with Aussies, trimmed fenders, and extended bumpstops!

If "stock" tires look like a tight fit, your suspension may be sagging...
Measure from the center of the wheel hub to the bottom of the fender flair.
Stock is 17.5" front, 17" rear.

I was joking around. If he trimmed and bump stopped that's not stock.
