Swaping PCM in 96 XJ

Can I swap a PCM in 96 XJ without doing anything else. It is early OBD2 with no chipped key or SKIM module. It does have overhead console with immobiliser.

Yes.

The donor Cherokee must also be a 1996 with the same engine, and the same transmission.

So I don't need to also swap the immobiliser module in the overhead console.

What is "immobiliser module " ?

SKIM was the only factory installed anti-theft option. The OHC should only contain the key-less entry module.

From the FSM

OVERHEAD MODULE

The Overhead Module operates the Remote Keyles

Entry and the Imobilizer system.

Power for the Overhead Module is supplied by circuit F1 from fuse 26 in the Power Distribution Center. Inputs to the overhead module include; door ajar

illumination sense, door lock and unlock request, and

horn relay control.

The Overhead Module controls systems based on

inputs broadcast on the CCD bus.

You are located somewhere besides the USA ? AFAIK US spec XJ Cherokees never had an immobilizer.
