Stalls when coming to a stop

Hey guys sorry if this has been asked before I am sure it has but I cannot find any specifics on my engine. I have a 1986 jeep cherokee with a 2.8l v6 auto transmission all stock. So for a couple days every time we start the car it dies after a couple minutes, also it will die sometimes when put into gear and most often when we come to a stop at a stop sign or red light. if you need any more info just ask.

It's the crank sensor!

The #1 cause of stalling at idle is a marginal battery. Have your battery "load tested". Any parts stores will do this for free.

Sure there are other possibilities. But it's advised to start with the simple things first. Always.

And yes, you can have a battery strong enough to start the engine, but marginal enough to give the engine management system fits. It is quite common actually.

Without "data", all you have is an opinion!
