Size of bearing adjuster for chryco 8-1/4"

What size wrench do I need to adjust the carrier bearing preload on a Chrysler 8-1/4" rear? I see where some have just jammed a couple nuts on a piece of all-thread and used this, I just never see a size mentioned.

Those who say it cannot be done should be quiet and not interrupt those whom are doing it.

It's the same size as your front hub axle nut. 36 MM. 'matter of fact, when people make their own adjusters, they commonly use old axle nuts. If you're making one, do yourself a HUGE favor and make 2. They are SO much easier to adjust when you don't have to pull it out of one side and stick it in the other for each adjustment.

My other car is also a Jeep,.. and so is the other one,.. and that one too. How many do you own before it's "a herd" ?

I can second the 36mm size. See here - diff tool C-4164 for 8.25 axle carrier bearings -

I only made one as for the little extra work it means during set up is hardly a major head ache when I might never need the tools again.

Rollin on 32'zzzz
