Oil pressure issue

Ive done some searching and cant find anything similar to my issue. My jeep has great oil pressure cold but once your cruising it slowly starts dropping to anout 10psi at 2200rpm. Then if you mat it till it hits 0psi and let off it goes back to 25-30psi cruising again. Was running 10w40 just switched to rotella 15w40 last night and same issue. Also tried a quart of atf added before changing, just let it idle for a half hour. Could it be a drain back issue where the pumps sucking oil faster than its getting it?

Best thing to do imo would be to get a mechanical gauge & see what the oil pressure is doing accurately. Take it from there. How miles on the engine? Have the "O" rings where the oil filter adaptor bolts to the block been replaced? My oil pressure improved after their replacement. But my pressure was not reading anything close to what you have.

Thats my next step is mechanical gauge. Only has 137k miles on it, ill have to look into replacing those o rings if the gauge is accurate. It still runs great cant hear lifters slapping or anything which as low as it gets at WOT youd think itd start clattering. Previous owner said they installed a high volume oil pump so thats why i was thinking maybe it was pumping to fast to the top and wouldnt drain back fast enough. But it just recently started and ive put 10k miles on the jeep so far.
