Thumbs down MJ Leaf spring woes -Help!

As part of my restoration I realized that I needed new leaf springs.
Bought the new springs. and installed one.
Discovered that the new springs are shorter than the ones that were on it. I have no idea if the ones I removed were original, or even correct.
I verified that the new ones are the correct part - they are what they are supposed to be.
The new ones fit, but the bracket is too far back, so the spring is free to swing up and hit the frame. but I am going to have to either make or buy new shackle mount brackets, which are, of course, unobtainium. I will relocate the new brackets in what would be the correct location.
Has anyone had a similar experience, and does anyone know where I can get an aftermarket bracket?

Did you buy MJ leafs or XJs? Are you looking at stock height or lifted? I think Hell's Creek sells MJ springs. Others do too. Might see about Comanche CLub dot com. Get more MJ owners over there. A few are also over here.

If i recall right, there are a few websites that claim to have mj springs but are selling xj springs that aren't "bolt in" upgrade. Hells creek is one of the only ones out there that sell true mj springs and is recommended by quite a few people(i don't know for sure if they do stock or lift only). Motorchange(another user) ordered from somewhere else and complained that it took twice as long to get the springs and when he did they were actually not the brand advertised but another brand distributed through the group he bought from
