maybe if you list the issues, punctuation helps us understand.

"Started up cut off horn blowing lights flashing' IDK

When I see the price of OEM I think aftermarket.
When I see the quality of aftermarket I think OEM.

Sorry hate typing on the phone.
Initial issues after strike:
Doesn't recognise either key.
Drivers door doesn't lock or unlock with key fob.
Engine would crank but would turn off after a few seconds.
Wrong key light on.
Engine light on
Guages dead not moving.
Horn blows off and on.
Headlights flash.
Drivers door controls not working

After skiff disabled in ecu it now cranks and runs fine, shifts gears ok, but the rest of the problems remain.

Did you call insurance? If it were me, I'd want to total it. Lightning does weird things in weird places. Melts insulation off wires, fries sensors, screws up computers, etc. You could spend years chasing it and still never fix it all.

Horn still an issue? And that blowing was when parked and locked?
Sounds like driver door is place to start, system may not recognize door is locked and or closed.

Gauges - speedo and tach OK?

When I see the price of OEM I think aftermarket.

I'm with Grapehead.

I've seen the nightmares that come with repairing aircraft after a lightning strike, and that protection is designed into aircraft. You're probably looking at a lot of fried circuit cards. Electrical equipment isn't bonded to the vehicle's sheet metal very well, especially if you have a lot of rust.

In all seriousness time for a new car. After something like that you'll probably never get all the issues sorted out, not to mention wiring damage you cannot see. Most likely fried several circuits and the lights/horn issue is the anti-theft system, which also triggered the no-start most likely as they typically have an engine immobilizer in them. There are several computer controls which sometimes overlap multiple systems, so just because it runs and drives doesn't mean there aren't serious issues which most likely is your check engine light issue.

Bought it for $500 from the ins co. to play with. Have a Body control module ordered for $40. then I will replace the ECM for $200 if that doesn't fix it. That's about as far as I am going with the car. I have been in electronics for 40 years and understand what can happen. Thanks for all the suggestions.
