Is this Leak coming from Transmission

A while back, I replaced the rear main seal, the transmission gasket, and the filter. I am getting a constant leaking from somewhere...guessing it's the transmission. I don't think it is the pan gasket...no evidence of any leaking there. It might be the rear main seal. There is a small u-shaped opening in the transmission bell housing (see photo) and I am guessing the tranny oil is coming from there. However, if this a part of the design of the bell housing what is the purpose of it? Does it allow excess oil to leak out of the case in the event of an over fill of oil into the transmission? Note the oil is leaking onto the transmission pan. I applied JB weld around the dip stick area where it attaches to the pan (see photo) because I assumed there was a leak at that point. Unfortunately I bent the dip stick holder when reinstalling the pan. It was never removed from the pan. It still might be leaking around that area?? If you can be of help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.
