Jeep Cherokee XJ. Died while driving, dont know what it is

Hi there, i was driving my 95 jeep cherokee xj and it all of a sudden lost all power and it died on the road.

So far i have checked battery, it works, connections are good. bought a new starter relay and put it in and nothing. After reading thru all the info i could find on similar problems i think it is the ignition switch or starter itself or possibly the crankshaft sensor ?

I am not great or even good with cars but have been trying and testing what i know, i tested the starter solenoid and one has regular voltage flow, and the smaller wire i think has none, which could mean it may be the igniton switch?

all the dash lights work fine, but jeep wont even try to turn or start, its like it went from %100 fine to %0 power. any ideas of what it could be or some thoughts on what happened are greatly appreciated. Thanks

That will show you how to test the crank sensor, which would be my initial suggestion since they commonly are known to throw fits.

Crank sensor is the most common cause, as the previous poster pointed out.

Second cause I think would be loss of good voltage at the fuel pump or failure thereof. What is it's current behavior if you try to start it? does it run? Crank/no start? Try to run but fail if you put it under load?
