Front End clunk noise front axle.

Have front end clunk noise and found out that when you hit the brakes in reverse you can see the front axle\drive shaft twist down. I was thinking the lower control arms bushings or can it be the upper control arm bushings? Or should just replace them both. Also I have tiny bit of play with yoke where goes into axle, what amount is normal? Hope axle movement has not messed up the bearing when the yoke slights into axle. Opinions ?

Id check both upper and lower bushings n prob replace them. Your pinion bearing should be ok as your driveshaft is a slip yoke type

I had a similar problem and my upper bushings that are pressed into the axle side were completely shot with very little rubber left. For the other ones, complete stock control arms with bushings run about $20-25 each. Check your u-joint play too. It should have zero side to side movement, but will turn back and forth slightly.
