Drivetrain Vibration

1999 Cherokee automatic. 110 K miles. Completely stock, 8.25 rear end.
Noticeable vibration/buzz with moderate-hard acceleration up to 40 mph. The buzz disappears over 40 but then I get a low wheel-speed rumble with very slight vibration from the rear when under slight load at any speed. If I feather the throttle it gets a bit louder. No vibration or noise when decelerating. No clunk from neutral to reverse. Slight clunk reverse to drive.
Replaced all driveshaft u-joints and rear axle bearings. Now I'm thinking rear carrier bearings. Any ideas/recommendations appreciated. Thanks!

Carrier bearings are a good idea. Its not hard to pull the carrier and inspect the bearings. If they check out fine, it easy enough to just put it back together. If its not the carrier bearings, i would look at the front drive shaft/axle. It still spins even though its not being powered in two wheel drive. Also new u-joints that aren't installed properly will vibrate, maybe double check those. Good luck.

Yeah, kicking myself for not pulling the carrier when I did the outer bearings and seals - 4 more bolts and done. Thanks!

Sounds like the pinion bearing. If you dive that deep, and the gears look fine
might as well replace them all.

You don't want this to happen.. I was taking off from a stop light, and snap!
