Dana 35 3.55 vs Dana 34 3.55?

I have a 1991 Jeep Comanche Pioneer, 120" wheel base. The rear-end is toast, and finding a new one has been a bear...it has a DANA 35 with 3.55 ratio, and the only thing I can find to fit my budget is a D 34 3.55. are they interchangeable?

Yes, the D35 and D44 are interchangable, provided that both are from a Comanche.

I think the guy said this was from a Cherokee??? Or some other Chrysler. Does that mean the drive shaft will have to be modified/changed?

A d35 was a bear to find, and the guy I got this one from us a body man who has a junkyard. He guaranteed this one to work, or he would replace it...it doesn't look anything like the one posted on this thread, so I don't know what the heck it is!

The body man that sold it to me made it sound like a spit on the sidewalk to change...but sounds like I need to take it to a mechanic...

It's really not a bad job to do I think the hardest thing is the emergency brake cables usually cut the U-bolts and install new ones I'd save myself a few hundred bucks and tackle it

But all in all if u can get that (Dana 34) cheap I'd gambol it and take a chance you may be able to purchase your first food investment and flip it. A lil black paint and a wire brush has sure made me some extra cash
