Jeep Cherokees from 1984-2001 had the option of selec-trac as did the Jeep Comanche, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee from 1993-2004. The "Selec-Trac" term has been used for a few different Jeep 4WD systems, so technically the "Selec-Trac" as many think of having 2WD, full time and part time 4WD and low range started in the XJ's (Cherokee's) in the 1987 model year.

The Dodge Durango and Jeep Liberty, also had this 4WD system available as an option as well. 1998-2000 for the Dodge Durangos and Jeep Liberty 2002-2007.

My 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee has selec-trac and I love it, great in snow/ice conditions when the roads and parking lots are patchy ice or snow and not having to shift in and out of 4WD all the time for those times when a parking lot is nice and clear but the center turn lane for example isn't clear. I've yet to need the part-time mode, must have to be really deep stuff to need that LOL.

Just in case the sticker is missing from your visor. My first Jeep with this transfer case confused me at first; ďFull TimeĒ to me meant the transfer case was locked full time, I was wrong.
As previously stated, itís a great system and I love it! Find me a 2004 Grand Cherokee with the 4.7 and this transfer case and Iíd sell my XJ in a heartbeat.
