Battery group size

Looking for a new battery for my ‘98 classic 4.0 XJ. What group size is everyone using? From looking it up it looks like a 34 but the battery in there now I believe is a 42. Just want to make sure I get the right size in it.

The original MOPAR battery in the '01 XJ was woefully small. It gassed all the time and rotted the inner fender under the battery tray. I replaced it with the largest that would physically fit the battery tray. That big battery lasted over ten years so I replaced it with the same. I don't remember the group but here is a chart to identify battery sizes. I advise you get the biggest that will fit.

D34/78 is the biggest that'll fit in the stock location.
