AX 15 Transmission swap questions

I just did a tranny swap in my 91 XJ 4.0L from an AW4 to an AX 15

The donor was a 92 XJ 4.0L

I have ended up with two problems since the swap.

Problem 1

The speedo doesn't work. I changed the VSS from the old AW4 to the AX15 and no speedo.

Problem 2

When coming to a stop and down shifting into 2nd the engine dies. The RPM's drop to zero adn I need to restart the engine. I have found that if I rev the engine a little it usually will stay running. Is there something I should adjust at the throttle body since the sawp? When idleing the RPM's sit around 800.

Any suggestions on the cause of the problem?
