97+ extended idle - does it work on startup?

I'm going to add a switch for the extended idle on my 2000 XJ the question I have is - does it work on startup? I.e. if I leave the switch engaged and use a remote start will it idle at 1000 from the go?

I've searched just about everywhere for this answer but am coming up blank.

Thanks in advance.

I couldn't say for sure but thinking it would.
Realize that when you first start it the idle would be about 1K RPM anyway.
At least for a bit as it drops down towards normal the more the Jeep warms up.

My worry is the PCM is smart enough to not let it happen on startup, I'm hoping it does.

Yes, it works at startup. I pretty much leave mine on all the time in the winter. It idles higher at first when it's really cold of course, but it won't drop below ~1000 at any point.
