If you have a 2008 Jeep, it is not an XJ Cherokee. What kinda Jeep is it ? 40,000 miles on factory installed u-joints ( or are they CV joints ? ) is unlikely to cause them to fail. Front axle unitized hub bearings should easily last in excess of 150,000 miles.
