This trailer was a pop-up converted into a flat bed ATV hauler by my dad almost 20 years ago. The most use it ever sees now a days is hauling my four wheeler about 160 miles to our property and back and the bi-weekly dump run.
I haven't used it in a few months and to prep for our 4th of July trip this year I wanted to replace the tires and hub bearings. I knew that one side of the axle was missing the grease cap, but since the trailer didn't see much road time it just never got replace.
When I removed the hub on that side I came across some scoring on the spindle. Take a look and tell me what you think. Does the spindle need to be replaced or is the scoring light enough to just go ahead and send it? The inner race seat looks pristine, but as you can see it's a little nasty where the outer bearing sits.
as long as the hub spins on the bearing and not the bearing spinning on the spindle, I would just send it. if not, should be able to find a salvage axle from under a popup camper to swap out.
