2018 grand Cherokee altitude and towing

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum as I'm about to pull the trigger on the 2018 GC altitude. But I have a few concerns about it's towing capability.

The dealer has them all with a towing hitch already installed. Is it safe to say that it will come with the HD cooling and any other features that will enable it to tow 6200 lbs?

I was also wondering how those big 20" wheels will perform while towing my boat. It comes with the Bridgestone Ecopia ep422 plus tires. On a side note, how well would these wheels perform in snow.

Hopefully someone has experience with this vehicle and towing.

By the way, the boat only weighs about 3000 lbs.

Thanks

Ok, so the dealer just sent me a pic of the window sticker and it definitely has the factory towing package.

I guess my only others concern is how well will this thing tow with those massive 20" wheels and how it handless snow.555535401.jpg

Happy Towing. The most important thing to remember is that the wheel base on these is much shorter than most big pickup trucks so a fully loaded trailer may seem to push you in heavy winds. It's a matter of getting used to how it performs, but you certainly have the right equipment and Jeep has worked out the components very well on these to tow twice the weight you are talking about. Thanks for the reply. I towed with the new vehicle this weekend and it was great. Could barely tell I had a boat behind me.

Big difference from my previous SUV.

Good to hear. Normal size boats are usually a pretty easy tow, fairly light on the tongue, aerodynamic, and the tires are farther back than a similarly sized cargo/utility trailer.

Just curious, what was your previous SUV?

It was a V6 kia Sorento, but it didn't have factory towing package, and it was FWD. So I expected a big difference.
