CJ5 COMBAT 6 AUSTRALIAN MADE JEEP In the sixties Jeep made CJ5/CJ6 called Combat 6 which were fitted with a ford 6 cylinder of the same year model as the Jeep.They also had Borge Warner gear Boxes /Diffs.Ford clutch & clutch housing. They were sold as Australian made Jeeps.604 were made. When the Fords changed to hydraulic clutch so did the Jeep. They can be identified by the firewall has been modified & has a large flat section.The ford motor had an adaptor for the oil filter so it did not hit the engine mount. I have one with serial no 8305 179228.Which according to all the records I can find mean it was built in the USA in Sep 1964. Which means by the time it arrived here & was fitted with a ford motor it was probably a 1965 or 66 model.
