Is there something significant in the presence of the AMC 20 rear axle or the fact that they are two-piece shafts?

Is this something that should be changed? Will this affect the tailgate mod if I decide to return to the CJ drop gate?

I think those two bolts are mount points for a cheap winch that came with the vehicle. I haven't tried to mount it because it's doesn't look like it could pull a tooth, much less, provide any serious recovery measures.

I'll have to look through the windshield. That's the only place I haven't looked.

It looks like the clutch bellcrank bracket was installed correctly on the YJ tub, but due to the body lift, they just bent the bracket down. To retain OEM geometry, the bracket should be lowered ~1", and then the clutch rod should be extended. I also have a 1" body lift on my CJ-8, and although I lowered the bracket, I have an adjustable pushrod on the bellhousing end, so I was fine using the stock CJ clutch rod through the firewall. Your choice as to how to accommodate it.

Either way, I doubt this is the sole cause of your hard clutch. You probably have a stiff clutch plate installed, but the only way to find out is to pull the transmission and look at the pressure plate.

Also looks like a Renegade trim package based on the steering wheel and the plastic trim around the speedometer. You're missing a piece of trim on the back side of the steering wheel. The door pulls and leather retainers are custom, as are the panels on the interior of the doors themselves. You probably had the smoker's package due to the cigarette lighter, but the ashtray was removed. You have the clock and tach, which weren't in every Jeep. What's more: you probably have the stock OEM tach for the 304, which is extremely uncommon, verging on rare. Hold on to that tach with your dear life. The tachs aren't interchangeable the way AMC ran the wiring for the ignitions: running the I6 tach with a V8 will give you the wrong RPM. The V8 tach also has a different redline at 5000 RPM versus 4500 for the 232/258.

Those are NOT Jeep seats. I can't tell you what they came out of, but the seat frame bracket doesn't look correct either.

The filler may not be centered in exactly the correct spot. Also probably an accommodation for the YJ tailgate hinge. I don't think it's off by much though, if any. And it could just be an illusion based on the angle of camera.
