Tire Size v. Lift Size Chart

Here is a chart I created to help folks figure out how much lift they need for a particular tire size, or what size tire they can run with a particular lift. Depending on how you look at it.

as a note:

Texas ZJ1 is running 35 x 12.50 15s on 15 x 8 rims with 3.75 backspacing. Lots of trimming was required to not have tire rub on the trail. Even with 6 inches of bumpstop.

is this for the ZJ or WJ....I'm guessing ZJ, but just checking.

edit - and Swamp Boy accomplished 35's with 6" of lift (LOTS of trimming tho')

Thank You Warren.! Do you know what the OEM backspacing is for the ZJ? I guess I'm looking for the 16" wheel back spacing.

Agreed on the FAQ.

I think this question popped up 8 or 9 times in the past week alone. Awesome job Hunter, did you make that?

4.5"

Sorry BK, it is only for the ZJ. I'm afraid my WJ knowledge is sadly lacking.

Thanks, guys, hope it helps a bit.

Don't know if it matters but I thought someone should point out that the pumpkins (differentials) height is only increased by tire size. So if you have (for some unexplanable reason) 3.5" of lift with stock tires you still have stock height at the differential......I only thought I'd point that out because (as dumb as it sounds) I didn't realize that at one time. :)

DMS,

those charts are on each tire manufacturer's web sites.
