Sorry to inform you that eastern WA is limited on places to go.

You could always go out to the 7 Mile ORV Area in Riverside State Park. But after several visits, that may very well get boring!

You could also go up to the Colville NF. There are 5 "unmaintained Jeep trail" NW of Kettle Falls.

If you want to go you should first stop at the BLM Map Office at 1103 North Fancher Road and get copies of the Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUM). These are legal documents/maps and are being enforced! They show which trails are authorized for OHV use and what times of the year you are allowed to travel on them. These maps are also on the Colville NF web site. You should also obtain a copy of the Colville NF Visitor Map as the MVUM only shows motorized trails and is somewhat limited as to the other stuff in the Colville. Armed with the Visitor Map and the MVUM, you will have everything you need. Many of the trails in the Colville are not marked so you really need to know where you are going! Not sure if you can purchase a copy of the Colville NF Visitor Map at the BLM Map Room, but I know it's for sale at NW Maps in downtown Spokane (the MVUMs are free!; there are 4 of them for 2010).

Probably the best area(s) are in the northern ID Panhandle. I belong to the North Idaho Trail Blazers (NITB) and they generally have 3 to 5 trail rides each month. They wheel in the Idaho Panhandle National Forest. There are quite a few miles of trails over there.

If you need more information, or want to see the maps, e-mail me as I have all the maps in printed versions and on my laptop.

I'd love to join a couple people on the trail. I don't really know where to go that is better than a logging road. Most of the places I have gone are dirtbike trails and quad trails. Email me some of those maps. maybe I could join you guys some time

Be very careful driving on quad and dirt bike trails. In many places, trails are now being designated for the type(s) of OHV use and you do not want to be caught driving a 4x4 on a trail designated only for ATVs or dirt bikes. The consequences can be expensive!

Rather than e-mail you those maps, take a look at the following:

Some of us are planning on getting together on Sunday, May 230 at 10 AM in the parking lot at the 7 Mile ORV Park to just play around for a while. You are welcome to come and join us. These will be mostly folks from the North Idaho Trail Blazers (we meet at the Post Falls Cabela's on the first Wed of each month at 6:30 PM.

I will have copies of the Colville NF MVUMs and the Coeur d'Alene River Ranger District MVUM at our get together on Sunday, May 30th.

I'm going to assume there aren't a lot of rocks up that way? I currently live in Meridian but will be moving to CDA fairly soon?
