Introducing MONSTALINER™ UV Permanent DIY Roll On Bed Liner

Hi All,

We are a new advertiser on jeepforum.com and I just want to introduce myself, our company and a very interesting new product.

My name is Eric and I have 25+ years experience in coatings manufacturing.
Our company Magnet Paints, is focused on industrial maintenance and commercial fleet refinish coatings,
epoxy and urethane concrete floor coatings and automotive restoration paints.

We are also the manufacturers of Chassis Saver™ Rust Preventive Truck & Auto Underbody Coating.
Chassis Saver is a high performance alternate to POR-15 at 45% lower cost.

For the past 5 years, our lab has been developing and fine tuning a roll on bed liner product.
The product has evolved through 3 generations of testing, development and field trials and has just been
commercialized and is available for sale.

I have personally been involved with installations on more than 20 vehicles in the last 4 years in which
my feedback and experience alone was the determining factor that the product was complete and ready for release.

Monstaliner started as a pet project. One of our employees had used a widely popular DIY bed liner on his
personal truck and was not so pleased with the outcome. He came into work one day with a mission and
for almost a year, he kept badgering the chemists in our lab to develop a better product.

One day after getting tired of listening to this guy rant, we sat down and mapped out what a
new generation do-it-yourself bed liner would have to offer to be successful. A first, we just toyed with the
project but we knew that a much better product was possible compared to those already on the market.

So here we are, very proud to present:

MONSTALINER™ High Performance DIY Roll On Bed Liner

I don't want to write a book here so I will post the web site link for all who are curious to check this out on their own time.

As an introduction special and for the rest of this month at least,
we are offering free shipping on anything sold on the web site.

Just use Promo Code "FSBL-1" when ordering either online or by phone.

Everyone, anyone... please feel free to ask any questions. I am always available to help.

Best Regards
magnetman

Looking to order some Monstaliner for my Jeep and some of the Chasis saver for my Datsun. I was wondering if the Monstaliner can be rolled over sound deadening material (Dynamat, Hushmat, Be Quiet, etc)? Essentially I'm trying to cover the floor and reduce sound.
Also I wanted to say I really like the feedback and direct communication with customers and the community you have going here.
Thanks.

Did you ever do trim-sized kits like was mentioned early on?

I was planning on spraying the cladding on my WJ with the spray on cans, although I think with the right prep time, your product may turn out better, and I can do it a color other then black.

If you read the description for the silver, it is actually the preferred primer. It has 2lbs of Aluminum/gallon (so 1/2 pound in every quart). The aluminum fills pits and provides and extreme barrier between the metal and moisture.

Chassis Saver is supposed to cover ~60 square feet from what MagnetMan says IIRC. According to the literature I recieved, it is up to 100sq. ft. Considering the Jeep is less than 5'x20', yes, it will cover all of the frame.

Oh, I thought you were asking if you needed to put something below the Chassis Saver. Supposedly the silver will just dull a bit when exposed to UV rays. I think MagnetMan would be able to confirm/correct that. You are using it for the frame, and it would be fine as the primer and top coat.

All Chassis Saver colors can be applied directly over rust.
The silver differs from the other colors in that it is more corrosion resistant because of the high aluminum content and it does not change in appearance much when exposed to direct sunlight.

Use minimum of 2 coats. 3 coats is best. Do not try to build too much film thickness with less coats or it can cure with bubbles.
More thin coats are better.

Any tips for applying this stuff without the use of a garage? I live in an Apt complex and I'm not about to borrow a friend's garage and fill it up with fumes. Living in S Florida and now being in rainy season where short afternoon showers are frequent and unpredictable, not sure what to do. I'm not planning on doing the top rails of my jeep, so should I just put all the windows on the soft top and secure it up between and after coats incase of any rain? I may run into some issues because I plan to do my door rails and if I keep the doors on there may be some contact with the liner. But figured worse case I may have to do some touch up on the rails when I know the weather will be good for a period of time.

Don't do it?

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO APPLY MONSTALINER TO HOT SURFACES OR IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT OR IN BLISTERING HEAT or you will be back here cursing yourself and me.

Can you find a carport to work under?

Do all your prep ahead of time and begin coating on another day early in the morning. If it gets real hot you may want to wait until the next morning to do 2nd coat.

I knew it :rtft:

We need to come up with a name for the next one. You know it is going to happen

Also MagnetMan, I think it would be great if you started a seperate Vendor display for Chassis Saver. I have a friend ordering some to clean up his springs and who knows what else. It looks like the Monstaliner Brand is thoroughly getting its due exposure.

I think that's a good idea as well(maybe luckrider should be on the payroll, lol). Anytime I see someone mention frame rust of any type of liner, I mention this thread. So, it would be good to have a thread just for the chassis saver.:2thumbsup:

I don't know if anyone else got stickers, but I got two with the chassis saver that was sent here.

Now that is a good name for the promo. I was thinking something more like the "Comeback kid Promo." You just can't get rid of it

That video is pretty sweet, you showed it before. You should see the Gloss Black test panel you sent me. Boy that thing looks like it is has been through hell and back. I tried to get it to chip, especially at the edges, but nothing.

#1,557 ·
You should see the test panel I have. Boy has that thing been abused.

From reading the supplied material, scuff with 60 or 80 grit and coat away.

Hey Magnetman, if you do decide to start a seperate thread for Chasis Saver, will you post an announcement in this thread so I can get a link to it. I'd like to reference it in the YJ Tech forum, there are a few threads going right now on frame rust.

Sounds like you need to hire a small marketing/Customer Service team to help out with all of this

sorry ladies and gentlemen but i do not feel like searching 105 pages for the question so here it is

will the monster liner stick to the plastic side panels on a Grand Cherokee?

I just received my small kit of Monsterliner and quart of chassis saver. I have a couple of questions before I got to town, and like the guy above me I'm not finding my answers by searching.

1. Is the 1 gallon of Monsterliner enough to do two coats of my tub and my roll bars?
2. Is it recommended to do my roll bars? If so do you have any suggestions, tips?
3. When I was removing rust I accidently went right down to the metal. Is it cool to put the chassis saver over the bare metal? should I scuff it?

Hey thanks.

1. For tub AND bars, it will be close and you may end up a bit short on the cage. A lot will depend on how thick of coats you put down. I did up the cage a bit, but not all the way (only to my hilift mounting point).

2. Like I said above, I only went up part way. For the cage in front behind the seats, I went up to the tub rail. For the back, I went up only to the hilift mounting points.

3. I did too. You already scuffed the metal when sanding down to it. :) You COULD use a bit of self etching primer if you wanted to do so, but I applied the Chassis Saver directly to it since the patches were rather small.

Magnetman may have a different opinion though. :)

As far as sticking to plastic, I'd personally use Gatorback for the plastic - that is what it is meant for. I used it on my Avalanche sailpanels and 3-piece tonneau cover and it is holding color very well.

I just gave it a light hit sandpaper and coated right over it. I know some took it out totally, but it is a seam sealer, and I didn't mind having the piece of mind knowing the seams were sealed twice.

quick question...is there any reason why not to use the chassis saver on the tub? instead of the monstaliner
Chassis Saver would be fine, but it wouldn't provide the sort of protection that Monstaliner does. It will keep the floor boards from rusting, but it fades some and I just don't see it taking the daily abuse of shoes and things being thrown (I know that is how it is in my Jeep). I am using it for the frame and sticking with the Monstaliner for the tub. This will be my second Jeep with Monstaliner.

I know erikpl answered this, but I will also answer.

1. You will have plenty for the tub, and some for the roll bars depending on how thick you put it on. If you have the roll bar padding, I would suggest going just high enough that the rollbar padding covers the liner.

2. That is all up to you. Tips would be to just treat it like the rest of the tub. Monstaliner stays in place when laid down.

3. Just make sure the metal is scuffed so that you can apply the chassis saver. You could also prime with a self etching primer. That will dig into the metal to grab hold.

To the person asking about the plastic cladding for their Cherokee (or Grand Cherokee), clean it well with a degreaser, sand, clean again, primer with BullDog adhesion promoter, then you can line. I believe that is the steps outlined by MagnetMan.

Looks like I substituted simple green for Sprayway.... Very sorry about that.
