So its 10pm and im bored out of my mind, and i dont have a build tread yet after having my jeep for 9 months.

so here we go :D

first i found a jeep on craigslist for 2000, so i went and looked, drove it around the block. it drove rough as hell, shifting into gears grinds a bit *still does lol* head liner sagging, carpet nasty looking, and 225k........ so i told them 1400 after tax/lic/reg and they said ok....should have asked lower lol * ther was 2 other ppl ther looking at it too but i had cash.

when i bought it i was so excited i missed all this front end damage....lol

first thing i bought was seafoam, plugs, wires, rotor, cap, window cleaner, carpet cleaner, some tools

I was debating to go with the Dynomax Turbo exhaust since its quite cheap. Though IRO is the same price as it pretty much with a more aggresive sound to it so I'd rather it. Don't want my rig to sound too quiet. After all I've driven it with open headers far too long now.

With that said though, how do you like it? Sound pretty good, louder or quieter than you hoped?

Kris, is the pre 97 exhaust different? My stock pipe was 2.25" all the way back from the header. Why keep it stock? I think you should return it and get a 2.5" in and out, get the adapters to fit it to stock, and when you're ready take it to George at meineke in the valley, tell him Haley from Autozone sent ya, and have him bend you up a tailpipe to weld onto it. It was $190 out the door for me, but that's cuz he charged me his cost plus a tiny bit for the cat and pipe. The cat was a high flow cherry bomb which cost me I think $70, and the piping was all of like $20, with I think $70 labor? Cuz it took him about and hour and 20 to bend it all up and weld it all on, but he charged me for 45 minutes.

coming from the cat its 2.25 and after the muffler is just 2, im just goin to swap mufflers at work and do that, ill wait on doing full exhaust for another time

ok today found out the exhast is not going to work anymore, so i returned it and going to wait and find something els, 240sx might be sold soo and might have 2k to play with

ya it didnt say if it was universal or not and had no markings so i looked it up and info said is side to center when i need center to side to clear everything. i might pay a bill, buy bumper, save some so when the time comes i can rebuild the motor and tranny

Nice kris!! I'll have to hear it more in person. That's the same muffler this guy I work with has on his ranger and it's sounds pretty good on it! Though he's got the whole mandral magnaflow pipe on his. You can tell yours isn't stock and sounds decent. I almost got that muffler actually but then dad gave me $100 and the super 44 was sold lol. You find out anymore about those grand Cherokee seats?

That thing needs a rattle can job lol. Check back on my build next week if you're interested. I'll have more pics of the progress on my rattle can camo tan job.

P/S you doing the cut and fold up front or is that just relief cuts?

i was lazy ill get a red close to it when i take the time to look lol prob going to cut the wheel well back a bit and just put bolts in the holes, no plans on trimming anytime soon, but going to look at some 33's on rims tomorrow that hayley found

Steering and braking isn't that bad really, just go easy on them and its no big deal. If you do decide on running the 33s you're looking at get yourself a junkyard tranny cooler. Pull a few if you can, the cleaner the fluid looks the better.

#172 ·
havent hit them yet so y bother, pinch welds are barley above the rear almost not worth doing if its going to take a lot unless i start messing stuff up
