Here is a better update to this build. There is a ton of pages of banter in this build so I figured a condensed version will help newcomers to the forum.

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f22/flop-project-cliff-notes-edition-1272067/

I started with a piece of junk I purchased off Craigslist.

After the complete paint job and 33s

I wanted a solid DD built to drive to and from the trail. I put the Jeep on 33s, then quickly sold them to go to 35s, Just days after I finished the build all but the rear D44 and the HP30. I was hit by a careless driver and flopped the Jeep on its side. Then there was a new plan to build a Jeep on 37s with a 104" WB. The rest in history dumped somewhere in the next 400+ pages.

Then the DD almost done:

The Flop that help fun phase 2 of the build:

Thanks, I think I am blushing though. I have 11 years painting and 6 years as a body tech. I am just 33. I have been scratching around on automobiles as long as I can remember. Some people just don't get it when I say I can do just about anything. But really Thanks makes me feel good when someone really notices. I will be following your Build. I am planning a trip to wheel with you guys this Summer in Badlands.

Dude it's been awhile since I looked at this thread last and just spent the last hour or so reading over your thread and I must say it is turning out great. I'm glad to see you taking your time and making everything look like it's from the factory. Great job and keep up the good work.

Looks good, need to paint that mesh on the fender black though.

You have made your Jeep look so much better with very little effort man (ok, a lot of effort, but few mods). Good work.

I can't wait to see some updated pics. If I ever make it back down to TN to wheel I'll have to drop you a line. I was at Windrock in August, and it was way to expensive for my blood.

Do it man they are so easy. Rok-on

*****ing looking Jeep, since the hood came out that nice it would be cool to make a hood latch setup that is hidden, no more latches on the outside of the hood to spoil the nice lines, what do you think?
Would almost be a shame to take the beast out on a trail and scratch it all up.
I really wanted to put some kind of hood latch that mounts inside with a pull. But I have not found a good one to use. I will probably use a set of Hood pins like Sean uses.
I never noticed the lack of latches. How does it stay down?
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to catch that.
Red duct tape for now. I just took it off for pictures. (Seans Idea)

Red duct tape looks pretty good though. I think the hood latches look good also, but if you want something different, check these out:

They make them for TJs and JKs, and Drake off road (the manufacturer) is a vendor here.

Yeah, Sean said those are realy nice. Gonna order a set in the morning I have to give Sean a little imput on the install of the DIY Hiline fenders.

For anyone thinking of ordering the Rokmen Hiline fenders. They install easy if you can weld or know someone that will do it for you. They come with a killer battery tray, new hold down and shelf for a locker pump or what ever. They are really great you will have to see in person to really see what I am talking about. They go together so easy I believe I could put a set together in a few hours. Primed and painted.

Spidertrax, you might as well order the 40's
Yeah, my computer was smoking last night when I was searching the parts. I think my debit card already melted in my pocket, Just with the thought of it.

I like the build. I just wanted to check rc 2.5" springs in the front and stock w 2" spacers in the rear?
Thanks,
Yep the latest pictures I have posted are with 2.5 springs in the front and 2" BB/stock in the rear. I did put the 2.5 in the rear Monday raised the rear about 1/4 inch.

Dude I love it I was so stoked when I had to jump on the tire to get back in after taking pictures. Man It has some flex and no binding. Well maybe a little limit in the rear due to the track bar.

I will be there if I have to drive my Jeep all the way there by myself. I am really depending on a tow rig though.

Your jeep looks great, and your body work is top notch! You definitely inspired me to go with some rokmen tubes when I start building my jeep this summer. Also, about how much did you cut off of the antirock's links when you did it? I have one in the garage, and I have been waiting to put it on until I did somethin about those links.
