Firstly, I would like to thank Pat (Nevermonday) and Blaine (mrblaine) for all of their help with all of my questions, the phone calls, and everything else. Without those two, I'd be clueless. Also a big thanks to Robert, Rod, Jerry, Connor, Chris, Marty, and Mike. For all of the help so far, and all the work that you'll help me with that you don't know about yet. :) Also, thank you to Idaho Jeep, thedirt, jason m, Jerry Bransford, and anyone else that I may have missed. There have been tons of people on here who have given me plenty of advice (not that I listened to all of it ;) ) but I think I've got what I want figured out now with everyones help. So, cheers to you.

I started ordering parts today for my build, so I thought I'd go ahead and make a thread. There won't be any actual building until I get home from Kuwait, but until then, I figure someone may want to look in on what I'm up to.

If I had any idea how much things would change.... lol... yeah... I edited the first post because I saw how wrong it was after not being changed for like 2 years. Anyways, the Jeep changes a lot in this thread. Enjoy the read, and the banter. There's lots of that. Lots and lots of that.

I blame Rod for his inability to hold a camera correctly so that a video doesn't come out sideways. I found no way to edit it per youtube.
If you'd get a real camera I wouldn't have any problems.

It was fun aside from it being so cold and wet. When we were taking the videos on that section was one of the only times it stopped raining enough to get out for a while.

That is because you have a ninny standard :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

James :highfive:

Lol. I even said something to that effect. I'm still going to call it pulling a Connor... Though there was no water around.

The front locker is now wired. Got it figured out. Thanks Blaine. On to the rear. Blargle.

#1,505 ·
Rear is wired, still stuck locked. Looks like I gave to see the gear guy afterall.

#1,506 ·
Good luck getting it unlocked. Is it wired up? Hopefully it just turns out to be one of the funny issues that you had with the regear.

How is it on the road with a locked rear.

#1,507 ·
lol did you even read?

The rear has been locked the entire time I've been driving it since the swap (5500 miles). It's not that bad. You just have to be careful on tight corners like in a parking lot. If I were running lesser axles I'd be far more leery about it. These things are beefy as hell stock, I'm not that concerned. That doesn't mean I'm romping on it on the pavement, but you get the picture.

#1,508 ·
wow... totally blind on the first part. I was thinking for some reason you got the front wired....

#1,509 ·
They are both wired now. The rear was just locked without having to wire it.

Love the Build dude. I am trying to plan a run for Badlands this summer. It is about a 5 hr drive for me.

Vids are nice. I tried to get my wife to watch them but she just doesn't see the point in Jeepin.
Bring her with you to the badlands. Several of us bring our wives, they always have a good time. As for you planning a run, make an account at IndyORV.com, and post up dates, there's almost always someone willing to wheel just about any day of the week. With enough advanced notice, I might be able to come. It all depends on work and drill and school though. heh. Let me know whenever you think you might head up. I'll do my best. I'd be happy to show you around if I can. I'm already remembering more just from my last two runs out there than I thought I was going to. Plus, they did a great job at marking the trails compared to what they were when I left.

Got up at the butt crack of dawn, drove two hours to see the gear guy, pulled into the first bay, and he decided to do it on the lift. So, he had me back out, and drive around the side of the building to the bay with the lift. As I pulled in, it unlocked. We put it on the lift, flipped the switch back and forth 10-15 times, worked like a charm every time. Opened the diff, checked everything out, messed with the switch again, and again, worked like a charm.

What I don't get is why didn't it do it last night? I drove around, went through parking lots, through my edition, messing with the locker the whole time and nothing. Whatever. It works now. So, cheers to that.

And connor, Jerry had a brain fart. That's what was wrong with the front locker. It's all good now though.

Jerry have a brain fart? Naa!!

I'm sure we'll get together at some point. Indy ORV is always planning something. You never know, we might be out that way eventually.

#1,517 ·
James, glad to hear the locker is working properly. It is funny how something is only broken until you go to show the *insert person here*.

Yes, but my life is spent waiting for the other shoe to drop. Sure it works today. What's going to happen when I'm on a climb, and need that traction to keep me moving upwards and it cuts out? I just don't like the uncertainty. I almost wish something was specifically wrong, and that it had a name so I would know.

It's the truth. Looking at the glass as half full leaves you always wanting more. Looking at it half empty allows you to work with what you have, without needing more. It's how I've always lived my life.

Is this what you were looking for? :dunno:

Every forum is different. On the 3 different boards I used to run, I used the same smilie packs just for that reason. But yes. That is the one.

Updates have been slow because I've been busy. Still working on putting my garage together after the move, also work and school. The jeep gets it's turn again soon. Ive still got to hook up the OBA and horns, and get the new windshield guards on. As soon as the tax check gets here, I've got another pricey project for the Pumpkinator. Yesterday Rod and I went to pick up my new toy. A buddy told me about an ad on craigslist so I got to it before it was too late. I picked up a used 6hp Craftsman 60 gal upright compressor (15cfm @ 90, 11.5cfm @ 40) for $125. I had just bought a little 27gal Coleman Powermate with 50ft of rubber air hose for $140 last week, so I'm going to sell the powermate to a buddy for $100, keep the hose for the new one, and I'll have 40 bucks in my compressor setup. Gotta wire the garage for it, but once that's done, there won't be much I can't do with it.

#1,527 ·
That is a good deal on the new compressor. Get you junk done man:tea:

I'm trying, I am just too busy. I have one too many classes this semester. If I had one less it would be fine. This summer should be good. Only takes two classes to be considered full time. That means less time at school, more time at work, and more money for the jeep.

#1,531 ·
It is a half inch hose. That's why I bought it. But I hear ya. Now I gotta get a few things I've been eyeing. All in due time.

#1,533 ·
Lol. They never are.

#1,534 ·
I got another deal tonight. I shouldn't have, but I did it. Some bling is on it's way.

I don't know if it's the jeep gods smiling and granting me some good karma or the jeep devils laughing at my wallet. I've gotta find a way to pay this dude. Lol It must be done. Some bling is ok right?
