Did some wheelin in North Georgia this weekend. Theres a place called Cochran's Fall just to the east of Amicalola Falls and theres a little offroading required to get there. It was a blast. Anyone else ever wheeled there? Its off FS 288. Ill post some pics tommorow.
Sorry about the pics, the only ones I had that came out were of the Falls themselves. If you like to camp and backpack its a cool place with some wheeling involved, not bad though.
As far as the spots by Amacolola, I checked them out as well. Its a forestry road that goes to the Appalacian Approach trail, then branches out. The wheeling at the top had some rocks(I have a 2" BB and was able to tackle them) and some mud holes and was quite fun. The views from the top were really nice as well.
Ill download some pics with the trails I explored in a bit.
OK, me and the Wife and kid are definately going. I just got the jeep ready so if we can get a time and place to meet up we are there. What say you gotCLAY? I couldnt PM you cause your box is full.
Tick are you familiar with this area? Im looking to ride somewhere this weekend with the wife and kid. I am about 1.5 hours away so if you are heading that way let me know what time and we could meet up and ride. I am not familiar with the area so if you do not know how to get there we will have to do some exploring.
We are heading up around 1 and will be in the area around 2. There are a few ways to go in so I think we should meet at 2 outside Amicalola Falls park. There is a Burts Pumpkin farm about a mile south of the park entrance on ga 52. They have a big parking lot. I will be there at 1:45. It is about 30 min west of Dahlonega and 30 min south west of ellijay. You can call me at 404 731 4406 if you need help finding the place.
We will meet you there between 1:45 and 2. I will call when we get close. trailreadyjp should be going as well so we should have a crew. Look forward to meeting everyone. My # is 770-329-4549.
We had a great time and look forward to doing this again. Thanks to our fearless leader in the ice breaker. I am going to post some pics but have morethan I can post let me knowif you want some of the pics and I will see how to get them to you.
We wil start with the carnage. On the way home we realized the radio was not working great. Helps to have an antenna.
In case those who were not there were wondering. It was flippin' cold. Check out the ice below the front wheels. This really made for some interesting wheeling.
Here was the money hole. I wish I could have gotten a few of the ice breaker going through.
Had a great time meeting all you folks. We need to do this more often. I have this video and one other of this hole and as soon as I download the pics off my camera I will post them.
Thanks for the great pics and video. It was my twin sons first time wheelin' and all of you helped them have a great time (driving the stock green TJ and the blue TJ with the Auburn tags on front).
