Well they are finally nearing completion. Primed them last night, putting on paint tonight. They are formed 3/16" plate with 1.5" .120 wall DOM tubes. The tubes are mounted at an upward angle of about 20 degrees, and the tubes are fully tig welded.
Watch for a full write-up on them on my site sunday or early next week.
Here's a couple pics.
Sexy tig welds!
2nd coat of primer:
Sandwich plates.
The final paint colour will be what I like to call "Nth Degree Grey".
Thoes thing are sweet i wish i had something like that back when i first got my jeep. got a few dings that took some tough love to get out. I would like to use those plans if thats ok. they are sharp lookin.
Nope, the sandwich plates are .130 stainless steel. A little thinner (slightly thicker than 1/8th"), but stainless is really tough stuff.. enough to bend the bottom of my tub downward before flexing when I was tightening the hardware. :2thumbsup:
Working on two different rear bumpers now. One 'normal' one, made from rectangle box tube, with jerry can holders, swing out tire carrier, etc.. and one that matches the forming on the front bumper (for my jeep).
i am fairly new to this stuff, not that i am a city boy, but i never too much care about what i was wiring before things was happening to me , .... if you know what i mean.... lol i wouldnt say more ahahah.
Well it simply doesn't keep up.. it draws power from the battery, and will completely drain it even with the jeep running, because the alternator won't charge it fast enough.
hey i know this is very hold tread but could some pne tell my the thickness of the spacer for under the body ????i saw 2 of them on raskull site but no sepc on it???
I'm sorry man, I don't have measurements for that, because it will change from jeep to jeep slightly, and depending on how accurate the bends are.
Just put the rocker into place on the side of the jeep, clamp it in place, and take a measurement.. that's all I did to get it, in the first place.
