Hello all, I live in Rhode Island and i'm looking for a place to buy some steel locally. I need to do some frame repairs, a custom rear cross member, body mounts, ect..I read these post and people say "I picked up some....", were do you pick this stuff up at? Home depot, TSC, Lowes all have light duty stuff, not the angle or channel i'm looking for. Anybody live in RI, southern MA, eastern Ct know where I can purchase steel around here? Thanks

i get 99% of mine at a place called capitol machine. they are primarily a machine shop, but sell all kinds of metals too. maybe look for machine shops in your area?

Sullivan metal in Holyoke and shoot I forgot the name but it's in Springfield I have bought from both places with much better prices than internet since it's expansive to ship. The place in Springfield is great because they will sell you any size piece of anything you want not only that but they will bend ,radius or weld to your specs. If you don't mind driving the 2 hours let me know and I'll get tou the name and number. You should look in the yellow pages though there should be plenty places closer to you.

I checked Metal Depot and man it might be convenient but the prices on the 2 items I checked were sky high. 4x2x1/4 tube is $72 for 6' Sullivan steel in Holyoke sells the full length for $10 more.

I just price checked speedy metals, metal depot, and online metals, and speedy was by far the cheapest (i was looking at DOM tubing) and the shipping seemed cheap given the nature of lengths of tubing.
