Hey guys,

In case you haven't been following the NY trails thread, We have gotten alot of volunteering to go out for a get together and some wheel'n. Well let's get organized so we actually get together rather than just talk about it.

If you guys will e-mail me, I'll put together a list of names/phone numbers/e-mails and we can figure out a location.

So ALL who want to get involved with this and get together sometime, e-mail me.

My e-mail is BrettDez@gmail.com

Make your Subject: "LI Offroading" or something similar so I don't confuse it.

Include in the e-mail:

1. Name
2. Location
3. Phone Number
4. Type of Rig / How Heavily Modified or Stock
5. Suggestions for a Meetup Location and Date
6. Trail Riding Locations you know of we can all go to(you don't have to give away secrets if you're worried, just let me know if you know of any and we'll figure more out when we all meet)

I'll give everyone a call or e-mail and see what we can set up. Hopefully we can get some good wheel'n, good food, and good drink(you choose the order of preference, lol).

Get back to me when you can guys. :cheers2: This is just about fun and wheel'n, nothing more

K 2 it's alot of fun. You should definately hit the beach when you get a chance. I'm in upstate NY for now, I'll post here if I set up a trip there, but you don't need us! Have fun at the beach!

I'm from long island (Islip). I'm new to the forums and I'm working on a 97tj build. Does anyone know a good welder? I'm going to need some welding done on my suspension in the near future. Please let me know via pm, email or in this thread. Thanks

Once it's done I'll be ready. It's been about 8 years since I hit the beaches and exit 71.

Stockers are always welcome. If I'm in the area and something's going on, I'll definately post it here, so monitor this thread!

I want to hit the beach up again if I can, depends if the Navy lets me.

Exit 71? It's a very easy trail, but I still enjoy it. :)

I want to hit up Rausch Creek Offroad Park again "soon." When I get a date in mind I'll post it here.

Anyone know any good spots around New London, CT? That's where I am right now, just curious if there's anything close by to me.

Ditto, they do consider it illegal on this site, beware.

Anywho, I'm probably hitting up RC on the 18th with a group as well. I'll post up where we're meeting when I remember...

I only said that this site considers it illegal, and from what I remember, someone got banned for talking about wheeling there. I've never been there myself so I don't know. Personally I'd rather take the ride to RC...

Bryan: Sorry I missed your message... we should try to plan all the local guys getting together. Next week I'm having some work done on my TJ, but after it would be great.

Interested in PresserveBeachAccess.org... does this apply to LI at all?

I really dont think so, but it cant hurt to help. I just got back from OBX, NC. Great time!
I stopped into Hatteras Jack's tackle. You dont need any permit down there to enter the beaches with your 4x4, but the gov wants that so I think thats there issue and also the piping plover.

Yep, you have to go over to Robert Moses, go west after you go over the bridge, and you can get it at the first parks dept office on the right. Only problem is I think you have to wait till after Labor day now. Only for sale early and late season. BTW, access was closed all weekend, was only able to get on to Napeague way out east.

Here's a link, hope it helps. http://www.thefishingline.com/surf2.htm

Not sure when they start selling, but they're good till the end of the year. I'll check the back of mine in a little bit and let you know the exacts.

You cant access the beach until April with the permit.

It is considered a fishing permit. And the only fish in season over the winter is black fish and the are no where near the surf.

On a side note I heard some ******* burned down the guard booth by the entrance to Democrat Point. So I'm sure the states gonna lay down some new bull**** that we are going to have to take in the *** all because one ****.

You know I saw that **** when I stopped there on my way home from Montauk. The ****ed up thing is it probably was someone without a permit...
