OK, I stole the idea from the YJ forum but it's a great idea so let this thread be an inspiration for all of us doing mods, maintenance, or repairs to our TJ's! :D

Personally, I installed my trusty Uniden CB into my new Rubicon.

Installed new driver's side door window after busting both door windows. After getting stuck and locking my keys in the Jeep in the middle of nowhere, and trying to figure out how to open the Jeep for two hours, I had to bust one window to get inside. Unfortunately I ended up breaking both windows. Don't ask, it was a very bad day.

Put her in the shop....yeah i know its blasphemous but i dont know how to do brakes myself. I needed new rotors and pads...great another 200 that was sposed to go towards my tires out the window.
Next time PM me and an I'll give you my number and I will walk you through it. I hate spending money on mechanics. Thats why I raised one.

I don't normally go for the various engine cleaning aids, but with all the Sea Foam comments, I had to try it.
At 126k miles, I can't usually use 5th gear on the highway, it just loses speed and I have to drop back to 4th. Added Sea Foam to a tank of gas and drove her around town a bit, then took her on the highway. No major acceleration difference with the little 4-banger, but I put it in 5th and was able to hold speed! Major accomplishment. I was even able to accelerate somewhat in 5th gear, that was unheard of before!
I will give it a few tanks of gas, just to make sure the Sea Foam itself isn't adding to the hp, but I am definitely impressed!
well,i guess that means your injectors were dirty then..im gonna have to get a can today and see if t makes my 135,000 mile tj run any diffrent as it does run so good i wouldnt think it could get any better..
kinda like my 3 chevys with over 200,000 miles on them,,ive ran lucas every few months and they couldnt run any better so i try to stick to a good thing.
but seefoam will get a shot again today just for my own satisfaction..

what is Sea Foam?
I just asked this myself.

When people are referring to "seafoam" what exactly is it?
http://www.seafoamsales.com/motor-treatment/index.html

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm thinking about it:rolleyes:
It's a fuel system cleaner & fuel stabilizer plus other things - I know sounds like a cure all, but Seafoam is GREAT! I use it in my Jeep, Motorhome, Quad, and both Harley's without an issue. If your injectors are dirty - dump a can into your gas tank and you will notice a differance in performance before you reach the end of your driveway! :2thumbsup:
my father swears by it..my buddy uses it every so often in his outboard motor also..ive used it in my outboard but didnt notice a diffrence but it was a new yamaha with 10 hrs.
i love lucas myself..after hearing about all the smoke it must be cleaning the motor up inside..i may just try it on my 97tj with 135,000 miles to see if it makes the lifters any more quite..probally be better off with a cam and lifter change tho..

filled the tank and put in a can of seafoam...guess the injectors were a little dirty, as i felt a diffrence after about 5 miles of driveing home..seems peppier a bit but may just be me..
bought rear brakes to install soon i hope..

as for the rubicon express long arm upgrade posted above...from the jf reasearch ive done that wouldnt be in my list of choices..theres better for the same price and some cheaper..to each there own..
